Since the late 1970's dual-pane windows have become the standard in most new residential construction. An inherent problem in the design of dual-pane windows is the tendency of the windows' seals to gradually fail over time. This failure allows outside air into the inner airspace, which can have a dramatic effect on the aesthetic and insulating qualities of a window. For years the only practical remedy to this common problem was to replace the window glass or the entire window as a whole which can be costly and wasteful.

It was in the year 2002 when our company founders Dan and Joy Frey of Granite Bay,CA first learned of a process being used in Canada to restore the visible and thermal qualities of failed dual-pane windows. After much research and recognizing the market potential of this new green and money-saving alternative to replacements, Dan and Joy formed The Glass Guru (originally Glass Wizard) and in August 2004 became the first company in California (and the nation) to offer the moisture removal service to the public. Since its launch the company has developed and implemented several key and proprietary innovations which distinguishes The Glass Guru moisture removal process from any other being offered in the industry.

As the only company providing this new solution to such a common problem, the company grew quickly and soon expanded into offering additional niche restoration services and the traditional replacement services from window glass, screens and showers to full-home packages of new windows and doors.

After a rapid rise in the Sacramento Region, The Glass Guru began franchising in 2007 and today stands alone as the only business concept in North America offering such a comprehensive bundle of cutting-edge restoration, traditional replacement and niche specialty services. With over 70 active locations and growing , we are the fastest growing brand in the industry. In July 2006, the company moved into its current facility in Roseville, CA, which serves as the base of operations for its local Roseville and Carmichael corporate stores as well as the International Corporate Headquarters and training center for The Glass Guru Franchise Systems Inc.
