Hello neighbors! I’m Marc Latendresse, owner of The Glass Guru of East Ottawa in Orleans since 2012.

I grew up in the Sudbury area, went to Ecole Secondaire Rayside, and then college at Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON where I studied to be a Glazier and Metal Mechanic. Prior to The Glass Guru, I gained valuable experience in Windows and Doors, Sales, Business Management and Construction, as a glazier, and then eventually a Territory Manager for a window manufacturer.

I started The Glass Guru because I enjoy helping people and wanted to have a positive impact on my community. What attracted me to The Glass Guru was the flexibility and freedom to manage my time while providing services within a niche market. I am extremely proud of how I’ve learned to overcome the daily challenges of running a small business and going stronger after 10 years. What I like most about this business is that I am able to help people with smaller service issues that a lot of other glass companies do not consider.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time riding my motorcycle, playing darts, and traveling when I can. I have two beautiful daughters, Jessica who is studying law at U of Toronto, and Alyssa who works from home. On weekends you might find me somewhere riding my motorcycling during the summer months or doing home chores or running errands.

It’s a great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve you and we hope to be the local glass shop you can trust and rely on for many years to come.

"Marc, the owner, provided excellent service. My husband and I are so impressed by his prompt responses, professionalism and quality of work. His installer, Colin, is also a really nice guy and did a fantastic job on a custom door instal. No mess or damage. We have installed many new doors and windows in the past thru various companies but Ottawa East Glass Guru is definitely the best. We highly recommend them."

"Simple shower glass with a unique integrated CRL shower curtain rod. Used Starphire glass to create a clean look. Marc took his time with the measurements, confirmed the design next day and had Luke installing within two weeks.

Couldn't be happier with the end result and look forward to working with Marc on the next washroom.
