Since the late 1970's dual-pane windows have become the standard in most new residential construction. An inherent problem in the design of dual-pane windows is the tendency of the windows' seals to gradually fail over time. This failure allows outside air into the inner airspace, which can lead to condensation and diminish the aesthetic and insulating qualities of the window. For years the only practical remedy to this common problem was to replace the glass or the entire window which can be costly.
In 2002 our company founders Dan and Joy Frey of Granite Bay, CA learned of a new process being used in Canada to restore the visible and thermal qualities of failed dual-pane windows without replacing the glass. Recognizing the need and market potential of this new green and money-saving alternative to replacement, they formed The Glass Guru (originally Glass Wizard) and in August 2004 became the first company to offer the foggy window repair service in the US.
As the only company providing this new solution to such a common problem, the company grew quickly and soon expanded into offering additional niche restoration services like water stain and scratch removal as well as traditional replacement services such as window glass, screens, showers, windows and doors.
After a rapid rise in the Sacramento, CA Region, The Glass Guru began franchising in 2007 and today stands alone as the only brand in North America offering such a comprehensive bundle of cutting-edge restoration, traditional replacement and niche specialty services. With over 70 active locations and growing, we are the fastest growing company in the industry. In July 2006, the company moved into its current location in Roseville, CA, which serves as the local showroom for its corporate store (The Glass Guru of Roseville) as well as the international franchise headquarters and training center.
In 2013, Vice Presidents Dave Hull and Glen Greenfelder became equal partners of The Glass Guru of Roseville and our estimator and trainer Jason Rumble was promoted to General Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the business. As the corporate store and training center we strive to lead The Glass Guru organization by example by employing experienced craftsmen, providing top notch workmanship for our customers and raising the bar for customer service and professionalism.
