Established Gurnee business enters its next chapter following the first ownership transition completed through The Glass Guru’s Franchise Resale Assistance Program
GURNEE, Ill. (Aug. 24, 2026) — The Glass Guru, a full-service glass franchise, announced today that Craig Amick is the new owner of The Glass Guru of Gurnee. Amick officially assumed ownership of the established location on July 31, 2026, succeeding longtime franchise owner Tom Rowland.
The Glass Guru of Gurnee remains open and continues to provide residential and commercial glass repair, restoration and replacement services to customers throughout Gurnee and the surrounding communities.
Amick will build upon the foundation established by Rowland, who opened The Glass Guru of Gurnee in 2012 and operated the business for 14 years. As part of the ownership transition, Rowland remained involved for approximately 30 days to support continuity for the location’s employees, customers and business operations.
The transaction represents the first completed ownership transition facilitated through The Glass Guru’s Franchise Resale Assistance Program, known as FRAP. The optional program was created to support participating franchise owners who elect to sell their independently owned businesses by helping facilitate an orderly transition to new ownership.
The completion of the Gurnee sale marks an important milestone in The Glass Guru’s continued development of long-term franchise owner support. In addition to providing resources designed to help franchise owners launch and grow their businesses, FRAP provides participating owners with an additional level of assistance when they are ready to transition into their next chapter.
Under Amick’s ownership, The Glass Guru of Gurnee will continue serving homeowners and businesses with solutions including window glass replacement, foggy window restoration, shower enclosures, mirrors, screens and specialty glass services.
