Shea Szabo,
Owner

Hello. I’m Shea Szabo, and I’m proud to serve the Southfield and greater Detroit area as the owner of The Glass Guru. I grew up in Farmington Hills and graduated from Woodhaven High School in Flat Rock, MI before going on to earn a degree in Psychology from Wayne State University and an Executive MBA from Michigan State. After nearly two decades in roles spanning project management, mechanical engineering, and outside sales, I was ready to channel my experience into something that offered both independence and community value.
What drew me to The Glass Guru was simple: I wanted to build something meaningful and well-earned. Owning a franchise that delivers a high-demand service—where customers genuinely appreciate what we do—felt like the perfect fit. It’s incredibly rewarding to bring all the moving parts together and see our team thrive while helping homeowners and businesses improve their spaces.
When I’m not focused on the business, I enjoy hiking on the weekends, spending time with my family, watching movies, and reading. I’m also a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoy hunting as a way to connect with nature.
Our family lives right here in Southfield, and we care deeply about building strong relationships and contributing to our local community—not just running a business. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn your trust. We look forward to serving you.
FAQs
Can you install glass in furniture or cabinets?

What causes glass to crack spontaneously?
Spontaneous cracking can result from stress in the glass, temperature changes, frame pressure, or defects. We can assess broken glass to help identify the cause.
Do you offer consultations before committing to a project?
Yes. We provide consultations to assess your needs, explain options, and answer questions before you decide to move forward.
How do you protect my home during installation?
We use drop cloths, protective coverings, and careful work practices to protect floors, furniture, and surrounding areas during every project.
What if the glass size I need is not standard?
We cut glass to custom sizes regularly. Non-standard dimensions are not a problem.
