Jeff Cottle,
Owner

Hi, I’m Jeff Cottle, owner of The Glass Guru of Durham, NC.
Originally from Lima, Peru, I earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lima before completing my MBA at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2017. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in management, most recently as a Product Manager for BASF’s Urban Pest Control division, where I developed a strong foundation in leadership, problem-solving, and delivering solutions that put customers first.
As rewarding as my corporate career was, I wanted the opportunity to apply my business experience to entrepreneurship and build something of my own. The Glass Guru gave me the chance to combine my passion for business with the opportunity to serve my local community while creating a team dedicated to exceptional customer service.
Today, I’m proud to help homeowners and businesses by providing honest advice, quality workmanship, and a customer experience built on trust. I believe every project deserves attention to detail and clear communication, and I’m committed to making sure every customer feels confident they’ve chosen the right team.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family—my wife, Iza, and our children, Thomas and Lilia. You’ll often find us exploring local parks, visiting museums, traveling, or enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy exercising and mountain biking whenever I get the chance.
Thank you for considering The Glass Guru of Durham, NC. I look forward to serving you and helping you with all your glass repair, restoration, and replacement needs.
FAQs
What should I do while waiting for glass repair?
If glass is broken, avoid the area to prevent injury. Cover openings with plastic or board if possible to protect against weather and security risks. Contact us promptly to schedule repair.
Do you offer financing options?
Financing availability varies. Ask about current options when you receive your quote.
Can energy-efficient glass really reduce my utility bills?
Yes. Properly installed insulated and low-e glass reduces heat transfer, helping maintain indoor temperatures and reducing the workload on heating and cooling systems.
What is safety glass and when is it required?
Safety glass, including tempered and laminated types, is designed to reduce injury risk if broken. Building codes require safety glass in specific locations such as doors, showers, and low windows.
