Hello neighbors! I’m Stephen James Bentley, owner of The Glass Guru of Traverse City Michigan since 2007.
I grew up in Cadillac, MI, went to Cadillac High School, and then college at Northwestern Michigan College where I graduated with degrees in Aviation and Biology in 1980. In 1988, I settled down in Mesick Michigan. Prior to The Glass Guru, I gained valuable experience in the trades and customer service as a cabinet maker and then doing environmental installations at Global Remediation Technologies for nine years.
I started The Glass Guru because I enjoy helping people and wanted to have a positive impact on those in the community looking for home improvement. What attracted me to The Glass Guru was the brand’s unique repair technology for restoring failed thermopanes. I am extremely proud of our growth and how we’ve taken care of our customers. What I like most about this business are the niche home improvement options we can provide.
Outside of work, I enjoy yard work and restoring classic cars. I have one 30-year-old son Stuart who lives in Ireland and an Irish Wolfhound named, Eyla, two Basset Hounds Lucy and Holly as well as a cat named Kato. On weekends you might find me boating or cruising around in my MGB.
It’s a great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve you and we hope to be the local glass shop you can trust and rely on for many years to come.
